Since we know that social media is a free and open platform where no restrictions to track your personal data which is now widely control by the people you never know whether they are right or they who follow the path of evils. It’s not only difficult to track the right content but it is also difficult to punish those people who act against humanity. Social media is no more helping us in fact it has brought a big disaster into our community you are not only Track but you are also Trapped.
This is not the first time that we realize that boycott should start against social media but this been informed many times by social activist and by few governments, UK Governments has also released the statement against Social Media “UK Governments Online Harm White Paper”
In 2018, Unilever’s, Keith Weed said,
“Companies could not continue to support an online advertising industry where extremist material, false news, child exploitation, political manipulation, racism and sexism was rife. It is clear from the groundswell of consumer voices over recent months that people are becoming increasingly concerned about the impact of digital on wellbeing, on democracy, and on truth itself.”
Unilever pledged to;
· Only invest in platforms that make a positive contribution to society.
· Only partner with companies creating a responsible digital infrastructure.
· Not to invest in platforms that do not protect children, or create division in society.
The Real Issue is we had been so trapped that it is almost impossible to survive without social media. It takes you deeper even if you have chosen harmful content for our societies it acts accordingly on your action it doesn’t recognize what is right and what is wrong.
The most important data that help them by your action is Like, Share and Comments. Use the way it doesn’t harm you and your family.
Be careful before you “Comments, Likes, and Shares”.
